We strongly believe that primary education is of paramount importance to the young minds in rural India. This needs additional focus and help, hence we stretch our comfort zone and go to nearby schools and motivate young budding school children to study well and excel in their areas. Dhakshra is helping and supporting underprivileged students from lower strata of the society.

Mr. A Dhakshnamoorthy, the honorable former secretary of the Co-Operative Bank in Udayarpalayam, Ariyalur District, Tamil Nadu, India, was a remarkable individual known for his dedication, kindness, and philanthropy. He was born on January 1, 1945, in a small village called Edayar to his parents Sugardhithambal and Apparu. His birth was a source of great joy for his parents after a long wait.

Growing up in Edayar, Mr. Dhakshnamoorthy completed his schooling there before undertaking cooperative training in Thanjavur. During his schooling, he encountered an unfortunate incident where his right hand got injured, leading him to become a left-handed writer. Despite this setback, he persevered and continued his education.

Mr. Dhakshnamoorthy married Chandra, a resident of Arulmozhi village, and they embarked on a life journey together. He began his professional career as a salesperson and gradually worked his way up to become the secretary of the cooperative bank in Udayarpalayam. Through his hard work, dedication, skills, and wisdom, he managed a large team, overseeing various roles such as clerks, cashiers, accountants, and salespersons.

Throughout his life, Mr. Dhakshnamoorthy exemplified kindness and generosity. He not only helped underprivileged and needy individuals professionally through the bank but also extended his personal support to many relatives and people in the community. His humble nature and commitment to serving others inspired those around him.

Tragically, Mr. Dhakshnamoorthy passed away on June 17, 2012. In honor of his legacy and teachings, his children formed the DHAKSHRA Educational and Charitable Trust. The trust was formally registered, and a bank account was opened under its name. The trust’s primary objective is to provide assistance to needy individuals in the field of education within the local community.

The four sons of Mr. Dhakshnamoorthy, driven by their father’s values, established the trust to continue his vision. They were deeply influenced by his teachings and the impact he had on their lives. To support the trust’s initiatives, they started saving a portion of their monthly salaries. Each year, the trust awards prizes and honors to top-ranking students, conducts mentorship programs across India, and makes food donations to various NGOs and charities.

The DHAKSHRA Educational and Charitable Trust serves as a testament to the enduring legacy of Mr. A Dhakshnamoorthy. It aims to uplift and empower the underprivileged by providing them with educational opportunities and support, carrying forward his vision of kindness, gratitude, and assistance to those in need.
